Soak in the sun as you take in the wonderful and quirky sights along the Hatea Loop Pathway. This gorgeous track circles the Whangarei basin and features a variety of picturesque views and interesting art installations. Along the way look out for Heritage Panels which are full of fascinating history and legends from the area’s native tribes including how Whangarei got its name. In the summer months, Artisian Fair Markets are run in The Reyburn House Grounds in the Town Basin section of the pathway. You may need to allow a full afternoon to see and do all the things available.
All 4kms of the track is fully accessible but may be a little bit of a workout. There is an accessible toilet by the main bridge and a liberty swing in the children’s playground.
