Lake Okareka Walkway / Rotorua Walkway

The Lake Okareka Walkway starts from a Council lakeside reserve and continues for approximately 2.5 kilometres around the shore to the outlet. The Okareka Walkway has composting toilets and are pushchair and wheelchair accessible as far as Silver Beach (a distance of about 2km).

The Rotorua Walkway has been developed in stage over a period of 10 years. The entire length of the walkway measures 26km, broken up into 8 shorter section. The Rotorua Walkway is mostly sidewalk, but there is a point where it turns into gravel and a boardwalk. Depending on what type of wheelchair you are using the walk might be difficult from that point onwards. There are three sets of toilets on this track, all are wheelchair accessible.
