Beach Wheelchairs

There are two beach wheelchairs that can be hired FREE of charge for use on Waihi Beach.    These chairs were kindly donated by a beach resident and local real estate agent LJ Hooker.

The wheelchairs are held at the Tasman Holiday Park (previously Top 10 at 15 Beach Rd) and can be booked via the following method:

Call the Tasman Holiday Park on 0800 924 448 (between 8am – 8pm) where the wheelchairs are being stored.
Book a date and time (2 hour usage) you wish to use the wheelchair. You’ll be asked to provide name and address details over the phone; and show your drivers licence upon pick up.
Collect the wheelchair from and return to, Tasman Holiday Park, 15 Beach Road, Waihi Beach.

They do also allow schools or organisations who need the wheelchairs for a day long or special event.  Call the above number to arrange a special booking.
