Greymouth
Greymouth is the largest town on the West Coast of the South Island. Located at the mouth of the Grey River, the Southern Alps can be seen in full force from the town, with Aoraki/Mount Cook (NZ’s tallest mountain) even peaking out on a clear day. A lot of gold mining history can be found in Greymouth. Shantytown is one attraction worth going to to experience the history and is largely wheelchair accessible.
