“Pricey, but a great location. I’d recommend paying up front to avoid their variable pricing scheme. The whole place was being overhauled when we stayed, and not a moment too soon. The casino was dated and grungy. The Skytower is right there, although getting to the elevator through the construction was tricky. The concierge desk could never do enough for us. One staff member escorted us all the way to the Skytower so we wouldn’t get lost. He even helped us with our dinner reservation to The Sugar Club right there in the Skytower lobby. There are a whole bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The hills in the area are steep, so we used the buses wherever we could. We decided to take an accessible cab to the airport when we left. The SkyBus stop is down a steep hill on Queen Street. We figured not to try that hill with luggage. Leave the taxi arrangement to the concierge well in advance. Accessible taxi service is hard to find and our driver wanted to be paid in cash (about NZD$40)” – John
