Ashburton
Asburton sits between two major rivers, the Rakaia and Rangitata Rivers. It is a focal point for the surrounding farming district with a full range of shops and services. Local art and craft galleries provides interesting shopping and the nearby rivers are known for salmon and sea-run trout fishing. Ashburton also has a number of museums including a vintage railway museum, aviation museum and car museum.
