Palmerston North
Located to the east of the Manawatu Plains, Palmerston North is a city that was built on public works and sawmilling. In 1886, the west coast railway was built, linking Palmerston North to Wellington. One of New Zealand’s main Universities (Massey) is located in Palmerston North. Its establishment saw a reduced dependence on farming in the region. Great heritage collections, art galleries and urban street art can be found in Palmerston North.
